Half Marathon for a worthy cause

The Liverpool Half Marathon is known throughout the world as a yearly running event that aims to benefit a worthy cause and promote a healthy lifestyle through regular exercise. Various running clubs and websites write about this event every year but they always downplay how important it is for the charitable institution for which the race is for. While many of the participants dedicate their race to one specific organization, these are the names that we always see during this event:

Alzheimer's Research UK - It has been at the forefront of research in trying to end the crippling effects of Alzheimer's disease. Since its inception in 1992, they were able to put dementia in the spotlight to increase funding and pioneer work for vaccines and vitamins. They act as a focal point and coordinate with government and non-profit organizations and fund every step of any promising leads to better understand how the disease works and how to best combat it.

Help for Heroes - Members of the British Armed Forces are a regular sight during the Liverpool Half Marathon as they dedicate their run to Help for Heroes – a charitable institution dedicated to helping the wounded members of the Armed Forces.

Alder Hey Imagine Appeal - Alder Hey Children's Charity is an NHS Foundation Trust hospital focused in providing care and treatment for children. Helping kids get the surgery and rehabilitation they need has been the driving force of their organization and it has inspired many Liverpool Half Marathon runners to dedicate their run to them.
